Recently, the Thai Ministry of Agriculture officially announced the Notification on Conditions for Importing Fruits from the Peoples Republic of China. This notification details the List of Quarantine Pests of Thailand, establishing a series of clear entry conditions and requirements for fruits exported from China to Thailand. Simultaneously, the notification also publishes the full text of the Thai Ministry of Agriculture Notification on Conditions for Importing Fruits from the Peoples Republic of China in both Chinese and English versions for easy reading by all parties.
With the continuous growth of fruit trade between the two countries, the Thai Ministry of Agriculture has taken this measure to ensure that the trade process for 24 types of fruits imported from China to Thailand can proceed smoothly and safely. Therefore, all enterprises involved in fruit export businesses must pay close attention to this policy change, strictly comply with the regulations, and ensure the safety and quality of their products.
In particular, export enterprises should actively establish and improve traceability systems for fruit exports. This not only ensures product quality but also effectively tracks the growth, processing, and transportation processes of the products. Additionally, enterprises need to strengthen the monitoring and control of potential pests during the growth period of fruits, ensuring that the fruits are not affected by these pests during transportation.
Furthermore, all orchards and packaging plants exporting fruits to Thailand must complete registration and ensure that packaging and transportation conditions meet the requirements of the Thai Ministry of Agriculture. For packaging materials, it is essential to ensure they not only protect the fruits from damage but also meet Thailands entry standards.
The Thai Ministry of Agriculture particularly emphasizes that customs will further strengthen quarantine inspections for exported fruits. This means that all exported fruits must undergo strict quarantine to ensure they are free from quarantine pests of concern to Thailand, such as live insects, soil, sand, other plant parts, or other materials that may carry pests.
To ensure the quality and safety of exported fruits, customs will issue phytosanitary certificates for exported fruits in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Implementation Regulations of the Law on the Entry and Exit Animal and Plant Quarantine and the requirements of Thailands notification. Additionally, customs will include corresponding additional declarations on the certificates based on the variety of fruits exported to Thailand and the mode of transportation.
